Abstract In this study 50 colectomy samples from patients known to have colorectal adenocarcinoma were studied for CD105 immunohistochemical expression. Mean age of cases was about 60 years. Females were slightly more predominant (52%), 90% of cases located in the colon and 56% were more than 5 cm in their maximum diameter. The majority of the cases were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma (84%) and more than 80% were moderately differentiated. CD105 expression was positive in 100% of the included colorectal adenocarcinoma cases. Positive group was divided into two categories (32% in +1 score and68% in +2 score). The expression of CD105 is significantly related to the lymph node status (N) as by increasing lymph nodes involvement the expression of CD105 is increased. The CD105 expression status is significantly more positive in higher grading group. No significant difference was found as regarding patients’ age, sex, tumor size, location and the histological type. |
