Abstract

Abstract
Two trials were conducted to evaluate the effects of in-ovo injection and dietary inclusion of nano-encapsulated Rosemary and cumin oil on Hatchability rate, growth performance, Immune response, serum biochemical and antioxidant parameters, intestinal morphology and microbiology of broiler chicken. In the first trail on day 18 of the incubation for 500 egg allotted in to seven treatments of 7 replicates with 10 eggs each. Treatments including three treatments injected with 0.05ml/egg of nano-encapsulated cumin oil, thyme oil and rosemary oil, three positive control group injected with 0.05ml /egg of sterile saline which undergo feeding trial and the last one was a negative control group which wasn’t injected. Results showed that in-ovo injection of nano-encapsulated rosemary oil, thyme and cumin oil improve hatchability and hatched chick’s weights relative to negative and positive control group. In the second experiment the hatched chicks allotted to dietary treatment with nano-encapsulated essential oil. The hatched chicks from in-ovo injected essential oils undergo dietary treatment with 100mg/kg nano cumin oil (T5), nano thyme oil (T6) and nano rosemary oil (T7), The hatched chicks from three positive control undergo dietary treatment with 100 mg/kg nano cumin oil (T2), nano thyme oil (T3) and rosemary oil (T4). The hatched chicks from negative control undergo dietary trial without additives (T1). Results revealed a significant improvement (P< 0.05) in growth performance (body weight, body weight gain, Feed intake, feed conversion ratio), significant (P< 0.05) reduction in serum cholesterol, total glycerides level, LDL but higher HDL, elevation in serum total protein (Albumin and globulin), higher level of serum immunoglobulins (IgG, IgM, IgA), lower MDA level, higher GSH level, increasing of villous length (VL),width (VW), crypt depth (CD) of intestine, significant (P< 0.05) decrease in total coliform count and increase of lactobacillus count of caecum for in-ovo injected and fed nano essential oils groups (T5,T6,T7), followed by dietary nano essential oils groups (T2,T3,T4) compared to control group (T1).
Key words: In-ovo injection, nano encapsulation, Rosemary, Thyme and Cumin oil
