Abstract The experiment was performed indoor at Invertebrate laboratory of National Institute Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF), Suez governorate-Egyptfor 90-days. The experiment was designed by usingfour levels ofSpirulina (Arthrospiraplatensis)(5, 10, 15 and 20%), to find out the effect of replacement of fishmeal withSpirulina platensisonL.vannamei shrimp.Experiment was carried out in 15 Tanks with water volume 150 L.Each treatment had 3 replicates and the number ofshrimp in each tank was 50 Post-larvae. Before stocking, we weighed the shrimp, and the initial body weight (Mean, 0.02 g).shrimp were fed with experimental dietscontaining about 40% protein twice daily. To keep the water quality in the optimum range for shrimp,Water Temperature, Salinity, pH were measured daily, and Total Ammonia Nitrogen, Nitrites, Nitrates and Phosphatewere measured biweekly. It was found that Water quality parameters were maintained within the range recommended for white shrimp and the best treatment of growth performance, feed utilization and economic evaluation under these experiment conditions was T2 which fish meal replaced by 10% spirulina. |
