Abstract In this thesis, different types of filters, impedance matching techniques and diplexers have already been studied to design a highly efficient microstrip diplexer with high isolation. To design the proposed microstrip diplexer, the transmit-receive band pass filters(BPFs)are constructed on two compact size squared open-loop resonator (SOLR),T-junction is used as an impedance matching unit and power divider, resulting in good isolation between the two BPFs. Then Defected Ground Structure (DGS) technique is used for enhancing the total performance of the diplexer in term of isolation and insertion loss.
