Abstract

Image compression is a major and important application in the commercial, defense, research and medical fields. Large image files cannot be processed or stored quickly and efficiently. Hence compressing images while maintaining the highest possible quality is very important for real world application.
Lossy compression is widely used for image compression and is used in commercial applications. In order to perform effective work related to images, the quality must be high in many situations with a relatively low file size. Hence, Lossy/lossless compression algorithms were used in this study to verify the algorithm that performs compression while preserving quality with an appropriate compression ratio.
Also, Security (authentication, integrity, confidentiality) in field of data communications has been an issue of debate over recent years. Internet and computer technologies have made great efforts in having data communications. Safe and secure data transmission amid vulnerabilities in computer networks remains a concern for many in the data communications field.
The primary goal of this study is to limit the amount of data that is transmitted over the Internet and to assure its security.
Using steganography, Huffman code compression, and asymmetric encryption, this thesis proposes a new way to data security. The Huffman coding technique is used to compress and encrypt messages in the proposed system. LSB techniques are used to conceal compressed encrypted messages.
Theses focus on an effective mix of cryptography, compression and asymmetric encryption. This makes RSA more popular than any other encryption technique since it is able to protect a huge amount of data while reducing the amount of processing effort required. Data can be reduced in size without losing information using the Huffman code compression algorithm.
Image steganography, Huffman code compression, and an asymmetric cipher were found to enhance security, robustness, and capability when used in conjunction with each other in this study. In this investigation, there was no distortion at all. With high PSNR values and low MSE, the study obtained an elevated level of safety.
Reduce the total message bits by up to 37% of the original message bits to increase capacity. The outcomes were compared to those of similar studies conducted by other companies in the area. This method offers a better visual quality and storage capacity, as well as a higher level of security and acceptable resistance to attacks than current systems, according to experimental data.
