Abstract The current situations of equine influenza in Egyptian equine populations are unclear, hence the aim of the present work was designed to evaluate the current situation of equine influenza virus in Egypt and designing a control strategy for control and prevention of equine influenza. In this study, serological evidence of EIV subtype H3N8 was investigated in horses and donkeys in 4 Egyptian. 164 horses and 98 donkeys’ serum samples were examined by ELISA and HI tests, 63 horses (38.41%) tested positive for EIV antibodies. Saponin as adjuvant and BCG vaccine were used to improve efficacy of many viral vaccines. |
