Abstract Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have spotted worldwide insights on the growing necessity of an action plan for people, prosperity and planet. For this, the aim of thesis is to explore the extent of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) role in supporting the achievement of SDG (9) (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG (8) (Decent work and Economic Growth) and SDG (7) (Affordable and Clean Energy) in Egypt during the period (2007-2019). The thesis started with presenting a literature review on the role of ICT in enhancing the achievement of United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Then, it performed a descriptive analysis through evaluating the Egyptian case study concerning using ICT in SDGs (9), (8) and (7). And assured it by conducting two applied studies, one concerning MENA countries using panel model data for the period (2007-2019) and another one concerning Egypt using Cross section method through applying the Hybrid OLS and Heteroskedasticity-corrected Model. The thesis resulted with 12 cross section models concerning Egypt assuring that there was a positive significant impact of ICT on SDGs (9), (8) and (7) in Egypt during the period (2007-2019). |
