Abstract

The introduction discuss the anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions comes from cement sector, the recommendations of IEA to mitigate these emissions, sources of emissions in a cement plant. Literature review of different carbon capture technique, different post carbon capture technique as calcium looping process, multi stage membrane, and amine absorption technique and finally ammonium hydroxide solution features in comparison with the other technique.
Chapter 2
This chapter includes the experimental section, material used in the chemical absorption of carbon dioxide by ammonia solution. Full description of the designed test flow reactor, the instrumental technique used in the process and method of preparation. Recommendation to control the chilled ammonia process, finally the main factors that affect the carbon dioxide absorption by ammonia solution as reaction time, reaction temperature, and ammonium hydroxide concentration.
Chapter 3
This chapter includes the identification of the products by XRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy and PH meter and explanations of each reading. The findings obtained from the experimental results.
Chapter 4
This chapter indicates the economic impact of CCS on cement industry, the factors affecting the economic aspects, the economic impact of using ammonia solution as a post combustion capture technique. Enhancing the economic value of ABC.
Chapter 5
This chapter discuss the practical design consideration and the sequence of the process from the main stack to the final product, some considerations on the site as water units, storage facilities, concentration control unit, finally the material of construction of the scrubber that can withstand high temperature and corrosion.
