Abstract

SUMMARY
Reproductive health is defined as” A state of complete physical, mental, and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, in all matters related to the reproductive system and to its functions and process”. Reproductive health addresses the human sexuality and reproductive processes, functions and system at all stages of life and implies that people are able to have “a responsible, satisfying and safe sex life and that they have the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when and how often to do(WHO,2017).
An annual gynecological (GYN) exam is a routine checkup designed to ensure that a woman is healthy both inside and out. The exam consists of a brief physical assessment to check thyroid, heart, blood pressure and lungs, breast exam to check for lumps or soreness, and a pelvic examination to assess the condition of the external and internal reproductive organs and screen for certain health problems (Lassen, et al.,2015).
This study aims to evaluate dissemination of gynecological examination practicing on enhancing women health after adopted gynecological examination through;
The study was conducted in faculty of nursing and technical health institute in beni- suef city&outpatient clinic in general hospital& university hospital.
The current study involved 70womens in reproductive age, their ranged from 20-45years.
Data collection was done by three tools were used for data collection to achieve the purpose of current study were:
The first tool: Self-administered questionnaire(pre, post& follow up)
An interviewing questionnaire was developed by the researcher based on the recent related literature review and experts’ opinion to collect data that cover the aim of the study. The questionnaire constituted of open and close end questions. It included two parts:
Part one:It was used to assess socio-Demographic characteristics of rural woman’s as age, educational status, social status and obstetrical and gynecological history.
Part 2: It was used to assess obstetrical and gynecological history where consisted of parity, menstrual history, medical and surgical history, pregnancy complication, delivery complication, post-partum period, gynecological morbidity, and family planning methods used. Gynecological as cervical erosion and vaginal infection.
Part 3: It was used to assess knowledge regarding gynecological examination as; definition, importance, its accurate time, source of their information … etc.
Part 4: It was used to assess knowledge regarding techniques of gynecological examination as preparation, rout, time of checkup, importance of gynecological examination … etc.
Second tool: scalemeasure to assess the trend of women towardsgynecological examinationit was used to assess the trend of women towards adopting the concept of gynecological examination.
Third tool: observational check list it was used to assess woman’s practice: including two Parts: (breast self-examination and vulvar examination
The result of this study revealed that:
• More than half of the studied sample has poor knowledge and negative attitude regarding to reproductive health and gynecological examination.
• The majority of study women reported wrong answer or they didn’t know definition, objectives and services of reproductive health.
• The higher proportion of woman mentioned that they haven’t any sources of information for RH
• The majority of studied had woman have poor knowledge about gynecological examination.
• The majority of the studied woman had an average level of practice of self-breast examination.
• The majority of the studied woman did not know anything about the technique of gynecological examination and didn’t have any information about how do it before intervention
• The majority of the studied females had an average level of practice of self-breast examination.
• Highly statistically significant differences in total knowledge and practice score of the studied sample after implementation of instructional guidelines.
In the light of the present study findings, the following were recommended:
Study the effect of educational program for long period to change women attitude regarding gynecological examination.
Future Recommendations:
Study the effect educational program for rural women regarding to BSE and vulvar examination.
