Abstract
This is systematic review and meta analysis about prostatic artery embolization in treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia , we included 23 study in our meta analysis with 1901 patients .
No further studies were included as of 1 october 2019, we reported different types and methods in this new minimally invasive technique.
We reported bias from previous studies and meta analyses , our meta analysis results show Mean prostate volume decreased (16.9) cm3 at 1 month follow up , Decreased 25.4 cm3 at 3 month follow up and decreased 23 cm3 at 6 and 12 months ,So PAE not suitable for patients with big prostate.
Our meta-analysis reporting that Mean IPSS decreased (12.8) points at 1 month follow up , Decreased (14.3) points at 3 month follow up , Decreased (11.9) points at 6 month follow up and decreased (13.6) points at 12 month follow up.
PSA decreased (2.2)ng /ml at 1 month follow up , Decreased (2.1) ng/ml at 3 month , Decreased (1.8) ng/ml at 6 month follow up and decreased (1.7) ng/ml at 12 month follow up .
Mean Qol decreased (2.5) points at 1month follow up, Decreased (3.1) points at 3 month follow up , Decreased (2.5) points at 6 month follow up and decreased (2.9) points at 12 month follow up .
