Abstract The present experiment was performed to investigate the protectiveeffect of vitamin C and E against the toxic impact of copper on growthperformance, hematological, some biochemical parameters, DNA damageinbroilersaswellas, pathological changes Onehundredchicksweredividedinto5groups,eachgroupcontained20chicks. group 1: was given a normal ration from one day old till the end oftheexperiment(6 weeks) group 2: was given a ration contained 350 mg copper sulphate /kgration fromone dayoldfor6weeks group 3: was given a ration contained 350 mg copper sulphate /kgration +250 mg vitamin C/kg ration fromonedayoldfor6weeks group 4: was given a ration contained 350 mg copper sulphate /kgration +250 mg vitaminE/kg ration fromonedayold for6weeks group 5: wasgiven a ration contained 350 mg copper sulphate /kgration + 250 mg vitamin C /kg ration + 250 mg vitamin E /kg rationfromone dayoldfor6weeks. Chicks of all groups were observed and clinically examined. Thebodyweight,feedconsumption,bodyweightgainandFCRwerecalculated andrecordedweekly. Five chicks from each group were used for the collecting bloodsamples. Blood samples were collected from each bird from wing vein attheend of3rdand6thweek anddividedinto2parts. |
