Abstract The present thesis comprises six chapters. The first one includes the introduction which the study area, exploration history, available data and the aim of the study. The second chapter contains the study area general geology. The third chapter deals with the seismic interpretation, where four reflection horizons were picked (top Abu Madi, top Level III main, top Level III Lower, and bottom Abu Madi), the two main faults affecting on the study area were delineated, the Northern fault and the Southern fault, isochronous and structure contour maps were constructed for each horizon. The fourth chapter contains the well logging interpretation and the determination of the different petrophysical parameters of gas reservoirs (Shale volume – Porosity – Permeability – Net pay). The fifth chapter contains the construction of three- dimensional reservoir modeling, three models were introduced: the structural model, the facies model and the petrophysical model, with the volume calculations of the initial gas in place. The last chapter contains a conclusion and recommendations in the development of Baltim gas fields, more drilling activities are needed along the axis of Abu Madi channel and away from the incised valley sides due to the increase of shale volume. |
