Abstract Post anesthesia shivering is a common complication following subarachnoid block. Prophylaxis with intravenous tramadol has been demonstrated to produce a dose-dependent reduction in the incidence of post anesthesia shivering. The routine administration of pharmacological shivering prophylaxis has however been questioned. Tramadol is a commonly employed intrathecal adjuvant owing to its low cost, easy availability and its ability to prolong the duration of sensory block, motor block, and postoperative analgesia Study plan After obtaining approval of the Hospital ethics committee, performing all preoperative assessments (medical history, physical examination , anesthetic assessment , laboratory investigations and imaging ) data collection started. |
