Abstract Aim of the study: was to compare clinically, radiographically and histologically bone regeneration in sinus lifting with and without platelet rich fibrin with simultaneous implant placement. Materials and methods: Nine patients with missing maxillary posterior teeth received 20 implants and lateral sinus lift technique was performed. Patients divided equally into two groups. group A included 10 implants combined with application of PRF while group B included 10 implants without graft application. The residual bone height was at least 4mm. Immediately, after implant placement, implant stability test was performed using Osstell. Patients were recalled for follow up after 6 months. Radiographic, clinical and histological examinations were conducted. Results: All implants were stable with no adverse complications after 6 months from implantation were recorded. No significant difference in bone quality, bone quantity or implant stability between both groups was found. Conclusion: There was no difference between sinus lifting with or without PRF regarding the new bone formation and implant stability at 6 months from dental implants placement. |
