Abstract The current study was design to study the effect of growth hormone salicylic acid and indole acetic acid in different concentrations on the resistance of banana plant to Fusarium fungi from the race 4 in a period of 30 days by studying changes in the activity of enzymes known to be involved in the plant resistance operations of fungal diseases. One hundred and sixty banana plantlets were obtained at the age of 50-60 days as a result of tissue culture. Half of the plantlets were inoculated with Fusarium spores by soaking the roots and then returning them to the soil again. Then the plantlets were sprayed with the studied hormone (indole acetic acid or salicylic acid) at concentrations of 0, 50, 100 and 200 µM over a day-to-day period of 30 days. |
