Abstract Background and objectives: There are a considerable interest in the role of epigenetic modulations in the regulation of Cytochromes P450s (CYPs). These genes are involved in drug metabolism, the responsiveness of cancer cells to chemotherapeutics and the inter-individual variations in drug responsiveness. This study was designated to investigate the effect of DNA methylation and histone acetylation on the responsiveness of hepatoma cells to anticancer drugs. Also, to investigate the potential of usability of hepatoma cells as a background in vitro model in pharmacogenetics studies. |
