Abstract

Adapting to climate change is the process in which urban societies seek to make them able to face the future. There are several methods and
techniques to protect the external envelope of the building from external climatic factors. These methods are developing with the scientific
progress and industrial revolution. And then these methods are applying to the buildings which were found that there are similarities between the
building and the living object to adapt to the surrounding environment and the changes that occur in them.
Smart Breathing walls are one of the modern ideas that work on improving the performance of the building, adapting to environmental changes, and decrease energy consumption in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, where they depend on natural ventilation more. Smart Breathing walls are a featured kind of dynamic insulation system, depend on the pores inside the wall itself to reduce the temperature, get rid of the humidity, and improve indoor air quality.
The effect of using the breathing walls on thermal comfort within buildings and improving Indoor air quality will be studied through An experimental study to compare air temperature, carbon dioxide (CO 2) concentration, indoor relative humidity and the thermal behavior between two models, one of them using breathing walls and the other built with solid traditional bricks.
