Abstract The present study was carried out to analyze the phylogenetic differentiation based on phenotype analysis depends on morphometric and meristic characters and compare with genotype analysis depends the differences in genotype based on Microsatellites fingerprinting among four populations of wild and cultured Gilthead Sea bream, Sparus aurata and know the phenotypic plasticity degree in these populations. This work was undertaken at Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt. The results showed significant differences (P≤0.05) in most of phenotypic characters among different populations tested. The genetic similarity coefficients among four populations based on 10 primers, showed that the highest genetic similarity (91%) exhibited between El-Deeba and Bardawil population and between Bardawil and Suez Canal. While, the lowest genetic similarity (80%) recorded between Alexandria and Suez Canal populations. The hierarchical cluster analysis based on ISSR fingerprinting, grouped the four populations into two major category groups. Within these major grouping, the first group was Alexandria population, while El- Deeba, Bardawil and Suez Canal populations were grouped in the second one. |
