Abstract Deafness and muteness are the most common sensory deficit, and constitutes a public health concern globally, and significantly affects psychological and behavioral aspects of life. Aim: This study was to assess psychological and behavioral problems of mute and deaf students at mute and deaf schools in Port Said City. Research methods and tools: The study was conducted at Al-Amal school for mute and hearing impairment in Port Said City on all teachers (n=47 teachers), and all students (n= 52 students). Two tools were used for this study. Results: The study results revealed that, (3.8%)of students had internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems, males had more psychological and behavioral problems than females. Recommendation: providing students with counseling services to help them obtaining social and psychological adjustment, continuous assessment of the of students to help in early detection of these problems. |
