Abstract The aim of the current study was to evaluate the marginal integrity of Hydroxyapatite Nanofiber reinforced flowable composite compared to a conventional resin-based flowable composite during management of initial carious lesion in adult population over a one year period. Materials and methods: A total of 26 volunteer patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were selected to participate in the study. A consent was taken from each patient prior to the commencement of the study. In this study split mouth design was used for each patient, in each patient the two types of flowable resin composite were used. Such that NovaPro™ Flow Hydroxyapatite Nanofiber reinforced flowable composite was placed in one side while Filtek™ Z350 XT Flowable conventional resin-based composite was placed on the contralateral side. In the selected patients the grouping was done according to the type of flowable composite used (R). group (R1) the pits and fissure were sealed using NovaPro™ Flow Hydroxyapatite Nanofiber reinforced flowable composite. group (R2) the pits and fissure were sealed using the Filtek™ Z350 XT Flowable conventional resin-based composite. Such that for each material (n=26) and the total number of sealant placed in all patients were (n=52). |
