Abstract Objectives : The study was designed to evaluate clinically and radiographically the success of dental implant placed simultaneously with maxillary sinus lifting using platelet rich fibrin (PRF) as a sole grafting material. Patients and methods : Fourteen female patients received sixteen dental implants. The distribution of these implants was; six implants were inserted to replace missing maxillary first premolars, eight implants were inserted to replace missing maxillary second premolars, and two implants were inserted to replace first maxillary molar. All implants loaded after 6 months from the surgery. All patients were assessed clinically 3 months, 6 months and at 12 months after loading regarding to implants tability and radiographically for assessment of bone height and bone gain. Concerning peri implant pocket depth and marginal bone loss they have been assessed for 6 and 12 months. Results : Significant differences were recorded between different time intervals regarding to implant stability peri implant pocket depth, bone height, bone gainand marginal boneloss. Conclusion : PRF can be considered as a sole grafting material in elevated sinuses with crestal approach as it produce adequate amount of bonealsoit is cheaper than synthetic bone graft and less invasive than auto genous bone. |
