Abstract Back ground: Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the world it occurs when the heart suddenly stops functioning, usually due to an electrical malfunction in the heart that causes an irregular heartbeat and disrupts blood flow through the body. Survival of cardiac arrest depends on immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Proper training on resuscitation team dynamic can increase the survival. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of application of structured program on resuscitation team dynamics for critical care nurses at Suez Canal University Hospital. A quasi-experimental research design was utilized in this study on a convenient sample of 40 nurses working in intensive care unit at Suez Canal University Hospital. Three tools were used for data collection: 1-Questionnaire sheet for nurses was constructed to assess the nurses’ demographic data, knowledge about CPR, team dynamics, and attitude 2- Observational check list: was constructed to assess nurses’ practice about resuscitation team dynamics 3- Nurses’ opinionative was designed to identify nurse’s opinions regarding the program. The structured program was developed by the researcher composed of three phases as follow: preparatory, implementation and evaluation phase. The results of the study demonstrated a statistical significant improvement in the nurses’ knowledge and practices level in addition to positive attitude of the studied nurses toward resuscitation team dynamics after program implementation, based on these results, the study recommended that, we apply educational program about resuscitation team dynamic for all hospital nurses periodically. |
