Abstract This study aimed at investigating the effect of a suggested training program on developing the needed knowledge, teaching skills and personality dimensions of 60 EFL kindergarten prospective teachers, Faculty of Education , Ismailia Governorate, who were equally divided into an experimental and control groups to be able to teach English for young children. The researcher adopted quasi-experimental design. To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher designed The Needed Knowledge, Teaching Skills, and Personality Dimension for Kindergarten English Prospective Teachers Questionnaire, a pre and post test and the suggested training program. The experimental group was taught by the suggested training program in the second term of the academic year 2017-2018,while the control group was taught by the regular method. The results of the study revealed that the participants taught by the suggested training program had better scores in the knowledge, teaching skills and personality dimensions needed for teaching English to young children than those taught by the regular English course. It can be concluded that the suggested training program had a significantly positive effect on the needed knowledge, teaching skills and personality dimensions of the kindergarten English prospective teachers. |
