Abstract The effects of UVC are harder to evaluate, with few researches done on the effects of artificial UVC sources on living cell. For this reason, the aim of this work was to study the effects of ultraviolet- C from UV lamp (UVC 200- 280n.m) on plant growth (stem andleaf), the color, internal structure, enzymes activity and antioxidant activityof Lepidium sativum andNigella sativa plants. So, pure seeds of used plants were received from Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture. One fluorescent lamp (type-C ranged from 200-280 nm) with power 15 watt, different techniques are used Fourier transform-infrared spectrometer (FTIR) and X-Ray diffraction (XRD).The results show Lepidium sativum and Nigella sativa plants may die, their color became yellow, their structure and molecular structure changed after exposure to UVC for different time intervals and dissimilar distances.Enzymes activity and antioxidant activityalso of Lepidium sativum and Nigella sativa plants changed after exposure to UVC for different time intervals and dissimilar distances. |
