Abstract
This thesis sheds light on the importance of interpretation in Kuwait and the competences that must be addressed to achieve excellence in interpretation. The research reveals certain points of weakness or difficulties that usually face beginner interpreters in the State of Kuwait. The study is mainly established to discuss the concept of translation and interpreting, and then identify the difference between them, understand the importance and the need for interpreting, know the connection between interpreting, cultures, worlds of thought and perception, and suggest a program for developing the competence of interpreters in Kuwait. The feasible way of collecting data was conducting an experiment on a group of 28 students in Languages and Translations College, English department as beginners in interpretation field who study and apply Interpreting & Translation.
