Abstract Background: Hysterectomy is common in average age of women, in general affect life particularly aspects of quality of life (physical, psychological, social and sexual domains). Aim of the study to assess health related quality of life for post hysterectomy women. The study settings were conducted at outpatient clinics in two hospitals (Suez Canal University Hospital and Ismailia General Hospital) in Ismailia city. A descriptive correlation study design was utilized; on a purposive sample of (124) post hysterectomy women. Two tools of data collection were used; first tool (structure interviewing questionnaire) :about socio-demographic data ,menstrual and obstetrical history ,medical and surgical history and pre-operative details about hysterectomy operation .second tool to assess four domains of Quality of life post hysterectomy. Results showed that, about 68.5% of study sample age(30-50 yrs.),48.40%were illetrate,61.3%had irregular cycle, 45.2%had more than three previous delivery,45.2% had continuous vaginal bleeding as main complain ,83.1% had abdominal hysterectomy and the majority of studied sample hysterectomy had affected woman’s quality of life domains with different grades. Conclusion: There are factors affect quality of life such as: age, level of education, husband income, numbers of gravity and parity. Hysterectomy affect quality of life aspects for women affect post hysterectomy. Recommendation: Developing awareness raising program to enhance hysterectomy women knowledge regarding promotion of their health in relation to hysterectomy. |
