Abstract Introduction : The process of family care for demented patients were assessed to elicit their perception about illness, information about needs as perceived by family caregivers, different patterns of social activities and psychological needs for patients with dementia. Physical, social, psychological and financial stressors encountered by family caregivers while caring for their patients at home. Different approaches of family caregivers in dealing with their patient disturbed behavior, as family caregivers reactions toward their patient disturbed behavior as (Patient’s forgetting of his relatives forgetting where objects are placed forgetting how to dress or change clothes) are followed to assess method of adjustment of family caregivers with their patient. Aim of the Study: This study aims at answering the following questions: !- What types of psychosocial stressors are facing the family caregivers of patients with dementia. 2- How do they adjust to the stressors. Subjects and Methods: To achieve the purpose of the study, data were collected through use of the following tools:- 1- A questionnaire interview that was specially designed by the researcher for the purpose of assessment of psychosocial stress facing family caregivers of elderly patient with dementia (The questionnaire interview consists of 13 questions). |
