Abstract Introduction: Development of pulmonary insufficiency in patients with surgically corrected tetralogy of Fallot may lead to severe right heart failure with serious consequences. We here made meta-anlysis to present outcome of Pulmonary valve replacment in these patients. Methods: A systematic review of studies that reported data about the effect of Pulmonary valve replacment in patients with repaired tetralogy of fallot that developed pulmonary insufficiency, from Jan 2014 to Dec 2017. Data were extracted and analyzed with RevMan. The variables chosen to represent the benefit were right ventricular volumes, functional class, 5 years mortality and 5 years redo Pulmonary valve replacment. Results: 14 studies involving 1077 paitents were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled 5 years mortality was 1% the pooled 5 years redo Pulmonary valve replacment was 4 %, the results of this meta-analysis demonstrate that after Pulmonary valve replacment the right ventricle experiences improvment of its volumes and symptoms improvment. Conclusion: Pulmonary valve replacment seems to be a positive approach and recommended to be done in correct timing |
