Abstract Cancer and its treatment can have a dramatic effect on women’s quality of life. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of coping program for women with gynecological cancer on their quality of life. The study was conducted at The National Cancer Institute. The study subjects involved 60 women, diagnosed with gynecological cancer and agreed to participate in the study. The tools used for data collection involved Socio-Demographic Data Assessment Tool to obtain socio-demographical and medical data and Quality of Life Assessment Tool (WHO.,2012); that was used to assess the women quality of life before and after the application of coping program and two supportive technique was used, the 1st one was the PLISSIT model as a guide to collect data concerning the women’s sexuality and the 2nd one was the coping program which designed by the researcher and reviewed by the jury panel for the gynecological cancer women. The results of the study revealed that; the gynecological cancer had a negative effect on the women quality of life, the study also revealed that; the coping program had appositive effect on the women quality of life. The study recommended that; Oncology health team should be able to assess and address issues of the quality of life of patients with gynecological cancer to support the women while planning their coping strategies. |
