Abstract
atrophic posterior regions of the jaw often require the use of short dental implants since standerd length dental implants can not be used due to limited quantity of bone or fear of injuring vital structures. short implants are characterized by an increased crown- implant ratio which presumbaly leads to increased mechanical stress.
