Abstract The work proposed in this thesis concerns with the separation via surfactant-assisted techniques and determination of some selected heavy and transition metal ions. Uranyl(VI) , Cobalt(II),Copper(II) have been selected as typical examples of elements which play significant role in the living organisms and environment. The work :-this study is exterded to study the metal ion complexes of are of the thiosemicarbazone and their biological activites against. Some Gram+ve, Gram-ve bacteria as well as selected fungi. To achieve our goal, surfactant assisted techniques (floatation and cloud point extraction) were the best among others dealing with the separation methods. This is due to their simplicity, less time consuming, accuracy, inexpensive materials and compliance of the method with green chemistry principles. The thesis consists of four main chapters:The first chapter:- Introduction and literature review . The second chapter:- ExperimentalThis chapter includes the preparation of reagents, stock solutions of analytes, ligands, surfactants and solid complexes. Also it involves the instruments and the devices which are used throughout this work. These are: locally manufactured flotation cell, pH-meter, centrifuge, U.V./visible and IR spectrophotometers in addition to flame atomic absorption spectrometer. Finally, the analytical experimental procedures for the separation and spectrometric determination has been stated, and the biological activity studies of the prepared complexes have been stated The third chapter:- Results and discussion |
