Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder that affects mainly small joints especially of the hands, both genetic and environmental factors contribute to disease susceptibility. The prevalence of RA is 1–2% worldwide in recent years. It is one of the leading causes of chronic morbidity. Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and anemia of chronic disease (ACD) are the most common extra-articular manifestations of RA. Anemia was related to markers of erythropoiesis and inflammation, by levels of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP). |
