Abstract The pathologic collaboration between innate immunity (mediated by APCs and NK T lymphocytes) and acquired immunity (mediated by T lymphocytes) results in the production of cytokines, chemokines and growth factors that contribute to the inflammatory infiltrate seen in psoriatic plaques .Narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) 113 phototherapy is commonly used in the treatment of Ps, and induction of T-cell apoptosis has been shown as the main mechanism by which NB-UVB resolves lesions. Clusterin, also known as apolipoprotein J, is encoded on chromosome 8 in humans. It is excreted from various tissues, such as the brain, neural tissue, liver, adrenal glands, and testes. It can be found in serum, cerebrospinal fluid, mother’s milk, semen, and urine. It participates in a number of biological processes, including lipid transport, membrane recycling, cell adhesion, programmed cell death, and complement-mediated cell lysis. Clusterin concentration in HDL strongly and negatively associated with insulin resistance and BMI.Therefore the study aimed to estimate the serum level of clusterin in psoriatic patients and to study the effect of narrowband ultraviolet B therapy on this level |
