Abstract

Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cellular growth which disobeying the normal cell division control and may invade organs other than the primary organ where it is developed with the formation of new blood vessels.It threats life if left without the appropriate treatment. Cancer is the second leading cause of deathin global next to cardiovascular diseases and accounts for about 8.8 million deaths in 2015. A wide variety of coumarin containing compounds with potential anticancer activity are known in the literature. The present study involves the design and synthesis of new coumarinderivativesin order to find more efficient and safe anticancer agents with fewer side effects.
The adopted reactions afforded different new 34final compounds that were not mentioned in the available literature. Structure elucidation of the newly synthesized compounds was achieved through micro analytical analyses and spectroscopic methods.
Molecular modeling studies were carried out using MOEsoftware to predict the expected affinity of the most active compounds with CDK2 protein. Further pharmacological screening was done to determine the effect of the newly synthesized compounds against cancer cell lines.
