Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma is the third cause of cancer mortality. Although there are many strategies for the treatment of liver cancer, chemoprevention seems to be the best strategy for lowering the incidence of this disease. We initiated this study to investigate the ability of Spirulina Platensis microalgae to prevent initiation of hepatocarcinogenesis-induced by diethylnitrosamine (DENA) which is a potent initiator and hepatocarcinogen, in rats and to show spirulina ability in decreasing oxidative stress induced by Doxorubicin chemotherapy. |
