Abstract The present study concluded that intestinal parasites are very prevalent in our community especially the emerging protozoa which could not be detected because the laboratory technicians don’t have the adequate skills to detect them. Also the family physicians awareness regarding intestinal parasites is low and the regarding emerging protozoa is very low. Well planned short training programs are useful to improve the laboratory technicians skills in the detection of intestinal parasites especially the emerging parasites and to improve the family physicians knowledge regarding emerging and non-emerging intestinal parasites, which in turn lead to improved patient care. |
