Abstract
from the previous study, we detected that all the patients with pleural empyema are in need for admission.
Most of our patients presented with cough, respiratory distress, and fever, and it is more presented around the age of 3 years then around the age of 5 years.
History taking and clinical examination showed minimal defects in taking history as prescence of pleuritic pain.
Investigations were done efficiently for all patients except for blood culture, ELISA, procalcitonin, ESR, CRP, analysis of pleural fluid, sputum culture, chest ultrasonography.
The lines of management of community acquired pneumonia have some defects in the doses that used, the duration of the treatment. It makes patients at more risk for developing pleural empyema.
The lines of management of patients with pleural empyema were on the same lines recommended except for fibrinolytic therapy.
