Abstract The aim of study is to investigate the early result ”within three months” of percutaneous trans luminal angioplasty of chronic lower limb ischemia in patients with chronic renal failure. In this current study we analyzed 20 limbs in 20 patients (70% male, the mean age was (59.65±8.54) with chronic lower limb ischemia who undergo revascularization by percutaneous balloons angioplasty with additional intervention as 4 cases (20%) needed immediate debridement, dressing, other two cases (10%) needed metatarsal amputation and three cases (15%) needed debridment and other four cases (20%) needed delayed amputation and debridment after demarcation. The main risk factors besides chronic renal failure was 9 patients (45%) was smoker and one patient (5%) was ex-smoker, 12 patients (70%) was diabetic, 16 patients (80%) was hypertensive . Complication from intervention occurs only in 4 cases (20%) complaining from minor non communicating hematoma at puncture site with ecchymosis in thigh. another one patient (5%) complaining from pseudoanerysum and communicating hematoma at site of puncture with ecchymosis and edema of thigh. The end results of the study as following: 5 cases (26%) were relieved from rest pain, another 6 cases (32%) had healed ulcer, and 5 cases (26%) had major amputation, one case (5%) had ulcer still healing, 2cases (11%) had return of the same complaint as preoperative by the end of three months. |
