Abstract This paper aims at testing the efficacy of platelet rich plasma injection in the treatment of De Quervain tenosynovitis, a sample of 20 patients were injected by 0.1-2 ml PRP in the tendonssheath of the first extensor compartment. They were examined clinically and by musculoskeletal ultrasound before and after1 month ofinjectionfor the assessment of tenosynovitis (TS), vascularity and visual analogue score (VAS). This modality of treatment was found to be effective in chronic cases. 90% of the patientsimproved in tenosynovitis, TS was significantly decreased (P<0.001) while 95% showed significant improvement in VAS score with mean decreased from 4.9 to 1.9(P<0.001). As regards vascularity no significant change was detected. 25% |
