Abstract

With the advent of new techniques in musculoskeletal imaging, MR imaging of the shoulder continues to develop as an important tool in the assessment of shoulder-joint and soft-tissue pathologies. A clear understanding of the normal anatomy of the shoulder and osseous and non-osseous variants is important in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the shoulder.
Our study empathized that MR is the best radiological modality in demonstration of labral lesions. Joint distension is a necessity to reveal labral lesions and capsulo-labral ligamentous injuries either via joint effusion/bursitis or MR arthrography. Capsulo-labral complex pathology have similar symptoms with almost always pain and limitation of movement and the patient isn’t always aware of his shoulder abuse in incorrect position or vigorous efforts, also may occur in cases of normal labral variants. The thing most challenging to the radiologist is to solve the case clues sometimes with irrelevant history and patient non- compliance to go through rather invasive expensive MR arthrography technique and inability to go through ABER position due to pain and apprehension in a variably looking glenoid labrum.
KEY WORDS: MRI SHOULDER, GLENOID LABRUM LESIONS, MRI ARTHROGRAPHY SHOULDER.
