Abstract
The aim of our study was to compare PAI-1 and D-dimer level between healthy subjects and patients with mild and moderate or severe asthma.
The two parameters PAI-1 & D-dimer showed significant increase in asthmatic patients in comparison with healthy subjects.
According to severity of asthma, the two parameters showed more increased values in patients with moderate or severe asthma than mild asthmatic patients.
Our study correlated between PAI-1 and D-dimer with inhaled corticosteroid doses, this correlation showed that there was a significant correlation between dose of ICS and the increase of PAI-1 and D-dimer levels.
