Abstract ”Ecological Studies on Larvae of Coral Reef Fish along the Egyptian Red Sea Coast: Perspective of Fisheries Management” The study of the ichthyoplankton is of great importance to fisheries management: it serves to study the fish population dynamics; the estimation of egg abundance is used to estimate the biomass of the spawning fish. Larval abundance could be good index for the success generation. These studies are also used to detect the spawning grounds and spawning season of the commercially important fishes and also help in Fisheries Management. The present work deals with the study of the fish larvae of coral reef fishes in the red sea (Hurghada). It aimed to study some taxonomical, biological and ecological aspects of coral reef fish larvae in the area and to use data about the spatial and temporal variations of fish eggs and larvae for the management purposes. Samples were collected from four main areas located in (Hurghada) these were (Marina, Sheraton, Magawish and Arabia) the samples were taken from these stations and we take 12 different transects in these four station as following |
