المستخلص Summary Problem Of The Research:- Current research identified weaknesses in the taking of programmers and courses of colleges of education for environmental responsibility towards the environment through its courses offered to the students in the colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen, (Al- Hodeidah University), as indicated by the survey results. Research questions : To address this problem, current research tried to answer the following questions: 1) What are the environmental issues associated with the coastal environment that should be available to students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen? 2) How much is the environmental education syllabus is related to the environmental issues associated with coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen. 3) What is the program proposed for the development of environmental responsibility towards the coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen? 4) What is the program effectiveness in the development of environmental responsibility towards the coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen? Research Aims:- The research aims at developing environmental responsibility towards the coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen, through the proposed program. Research Limitations:- Find the current limit myself to the following limits - : 1. Geographical limits: colleges of education in the coastal provinces of the Republic of Yemen. 2. Human limits: a group of students at colleges of education, University of Hodeidah-Hodeidah governorate in the West of the Republic of Yemen on the Red Sea coast. The number is (100). -B- 184 - 3. Temporal limits: a college year (2015/2016) is the year of data collection and application of the proposed program. 4. Environmental education course (level 4) colleges of education (elective). Hypothesis of the Research:- 1. There are statistical significant differences at (0.01) level between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on a scale of Awareness of the Natural Environment after applying the proposed program for application post. 2. There are statistical significant differences at (0.01) level between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on the scale of Responsible Environmental Behavior after applying the proposed program for the postapplication. 3. There are statistical significant differences at (0.01) level between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on the scale of Heading towards the Coastal Environment after applying the proposed program for the postapplication. Research tools: The tools of the research the researcher prepared are as follows : 1. The list of issues and environmental problems associated with the coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen. 2. A form of Content analysis to know how far the syllabuses of colleges of Education tackle the environmental issues and problems associated with the coastal environment. 3. A questionnaire to identify the degree the programs of the faculties of education of environmental issues are associated with coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen. 4. A measurement of environmental responsibility with its proposed dimensions. -C- 185 - Research Methodology Quasi-experimental approach : through experimenting some topics contained in the proposed program for environmental education syllabus on a group of students at colleges of Education in the coastal provinces (Faculty of Education, Bajil, Faculty of education, Al-Hodeidah University), using quasi-experimental design demo based on two interrelated experimental groups, using the tools of pre and post program application of (environmental responsibility). Research Procedures: To answer the questions of the research and the validation of work, the following steps were followed : 1) Prepare a list of issues and environmental problems associated with the coastal environment in Yemen, 2) Study the reality of decision of environmental education in some colleges of education in Yemen using content analysis. 3) Elaborate a proposed program for the development of environmental responsibility towards the coastal environment among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen. 4) Propose a program on some Gentlemen arbitrators to make the necessary adjustments to reach the final image of the proposed program. 5) Apply the proposed program for the development of environmental responsibility towards the coastal environment on the study sample of students by experimental design to current research, according to the time plan prepared for that. 6) Monitor results and statistical data processing. 7) Draw conclusions, recommendations and suggestions. Research Results: The findings of the research are as follows: 1) There are statistical significant differences at (0.01) level between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on the scale of awareness of the natural environment after applying the proposed program for post-program application. 2) There are statistical significant differences at (0.01) level between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on the scale of responsible environmental behavior after applying the proposed program for post-program application. 3) There are statistical significant differences at (0.01) level between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on the scale of Heading towards the coastal environment after applying the proposed program for post-program application. -D- 186 - This is due to the proposed program, which was exposed to students in the appropriate teaching methods to study environmental education syllabuses taught in Al-Hodeidah University and its faculties of Education. This indicates that the students feel the problems and risks to the coastal environment and the need of raising the environmental responsibility towards the environment. Research Recommendations: Through the findings of the research, it recommends the following : (1) Developing programs to prepare teachers of colleges of education by including environmental responsibility dimensions in courses that examine students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen. (2) Preparing Environmental programs for the development of environmental responsibility towards the coastal environment and paying attention to the various dimensions of planting among students in Yemen through life practices in local environments. (3) Preparing field visits for students to have better understanding about the coastal environmental problems in the Republic of Yemen and to participate in proposing ways to solutions through teamwork and cooperation for the preservation of the environment. (4) Paying more attention on the environmental education in order to achieve its objectives, the most important of which is the development of environmental responsibility among students in colleges of education in the Republic of Yemen. (5) Emphasizing the importance of providing environmental responsibility dimensions to students in depth to inspire them a proper behavior towards emerging environmental problems and issues in their local environment (especially coastal environment). (6) Emphasizing the emotional and behavioral skill aspects when implementing environmental education programs, not just to address the cognitive aspects only, but also to show the necessity of teaching methods based on positive and effective learner and support it with activities and instructions that effectively contribute to the development of environmental responsibility in various dimensions and levels. (7) Considering coverage for measurement tools and methods of environmental education course objectives through cognitive -E- 187 - skills and learning aspects and sentimental state. It is possible to make use of the scale applied in the current research. Suggestions of the Research: In light of the procedures and the results of current research, it suggests action studies and researches in the following areas: 1. Similar researches that deal with different samples of public education, and measure their impact on the development of environmental responsibility. 2. Researches that aim at developing responsible environmental behavior through programs on skills to deal with the risks and problems of coastal environments. 3. Studies to measure students’ attitudes towards their responsibilities in carrying personal duties towards the environment. 4. Building environmental education programs for students of general education in the light of environmental problems and issues in coastal environments. |
