Abstract

T
he results of this pilot study point out the effectiveness of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells and Bevacizumab addition to the standard methotrextate treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
It is recommended to:
• Detect new strategies of treatment of RA depending on the pathogenesis and pathology of the disease.
• Make further studies on larger number of rats for longer period to detect the possible side effects of MSCs and Bevacizumab.
• Permit further studies in humans after full researches on animals.
• Educate people about the importance stem cells, the cord blood as a source of stem cells and blood banks for cord blood.
• Search for a new technique to obtain synovial samples from small animals as rats without the toxic effect of decalcification.
