Abstract
The present investigation was designed to evaluate the
effect of cannabis sativus plant extract on neurotransmitters in
brain tissue of male albino rats.
Experimental design:
The present study was carried out on 150 males healthy
slbino rats, 1 month old and had an average weight 11 Ogm.
They were reared under the same environmental and
nutritional conditions at separated clean cages. They were also
kept under observation for 15 days before the experiment. They
were divided into 6 groups:
Groupl:
Included 24 rats, which were injected intra peritonially
with cannabis sativus extract for seven successive days.
The rot of this gruqp were subdivided int 2 group:
group la: included 12 rats: injected with 0.1 ml cannabis
lotal extract (low dose) intra peritonially once a day for 1 weak
~rain tissue samples were collected 4 hours after the last injected
oose.
group lb: included 12 rats: injected with 0.2 ml cannabis
total extract (high dose) intra peritonially once a day for 1 weak
hain tissue samples were collected 4 hours after the last injected
dose.
