Abstract

General survey of polluted soil at Menoufia governorate was
done to discover different cadmium concentrations in different
localities and its effect on microbial activities. A pot experiment was
conducted to study the impact of AM fungi and bio-straw extract as
biological agents against heavy metal contamination that cause
destructive effect on plant. The application of AM fungi and
bio-straw extract were successful in agriculture and strongly
recommended for minimizing the agrochemicals impute and
maintaining the environmental balance as possible. The integrated
effect of AM fungi and bio-straw extract was also considered.
Results obtained from this study could be summarized as follow:
General survey of different polluted soil in El-Menoufia governorate:
1. The highest value of cadmium concentration (1.5 mg/kg soil) was
observed at draining channel, (Menouf), while the lowest values
exhibited with industrial region (Quesna) which recorded
0.03 mg/kg soil.
2. Mycorrhizal colonization rate reached 80% in Trifolium
