Abstract Our study was consisted of 25 patients (13 were males and 12 were females) to study thecorrelation between 6 minutes walking test and DLCO in patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonitis We concluded that: 1- In a group of patients with mild DLCO defect , there was: - A + ve correlation between DLCO defect and resting SPO2 - A + vecorrelation between DLCO defect and post exertion SPO2 - A – ve correlation between DLCO defect and difference saturation SPO2 2- In agroup of patients with moderate DLCO defect , there was : - a + ve correlation between DLCO defect and resting SPO2 - a + ve correlation between DLCO defect and post exertion SPO2 - a –ve correlation between DLCO defect and difference saturationSPO2 3- In a group of patients with severe DLCO defect , there was : - a +ve correlation between DLCO defect and resting SPO2 - a + ve correlation between DLCO defect and post exertion SPO2 - a –ve correlation between DLCO defect and difference saturation SPO2 4- In all patients of the studied group , there was : - a + ve correlation between DLCO defect and resting SPO2 - a –ve correlation between DLCO defect and post exertion SPO2 - a + ve correlation between DLCO defect and difference saturation SPO2 5- The cut off value of DLCO defect was <7.6 with sensitivity of 86% and specivicity of 90% with in moderate DLCO defect and > 105 with sensitivity of 84% and specivicity of 87% with in severe DLCO defect |
