Abstract Considering several literatures enlightening the antifibrotic and antioxidant nature of Leflunomide, several series of Leflunomide analogues were synthesized and evaluated for both antifibrotic and antioxidant activity. In the present investigation, twenty one novel compounds that are not mentioned in the available literatures were synthesized. The structures of these compounds were checked by TLC, and elucidated through CHN microanalysis and spectroscopic methods. Nine of the newly synthesized compounds were subjected for their antifibrotic activity and its effect on liver parameters had been measured. Also the histopathology had been done for the animals liver. It was observed that most of our target compounds proved to have better antifibrotic activity than our lead drug. Also all the newly synthesized compounds were subjected for their antioxidant activity using L-ascorbic acid as positive control according to ABTS antioxidant assay method. It was observed some of our target compounds proved to have considerable antioxidant activity. |
