Abstract This study was carried out during 1994/1995 and 1995/1996 in the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, at Shobra El-Khema and Om-Saber Farm, South ofTahrir, El-Behira Governorate to produce some local intervarietal hybrids for replacing, gradually, the hybrids which their seeds are annually imported from the other countries. Five tomato cultivars i.e., Ace 55 VF, Peto 86, Strain B, UC 97/3 and Rosso! VFN were used .Seeds of these cultivars were obtained from USA and their transplants were cultivated in March 1995. Half diallel crosses were made between these cultivars to obtain the F1 hybrid seeds. On 21 March 1996, the transplants of the obtained hybrids (10 hybrids) were evaluated with their parents in an experiment of a randomized complete block design with four replicates. |
