المستخلص

The Ancient Egyptian considered the falcon as an important bird in
Ancient Egyptian religion. The Falcon was depicted in the forum of Ra,
Horus and many gods, and became a symbol of the king and Gods since
the pre-dynastic period, appeared in the book of the dead since the
beginning of its inception, where he appeared in Chapter 136 (a) BD,
Papyrus of Jah-mes (JaH-ms) back to the region of King Thutmose III.
The Type of the depicted falcon in Egypt and the book of the dead is the
falcon Hours, from Biarmicus spices, named also The Lanner Falcon.
The importance and the reasons for the selection of the study:
Study for the Vignettes of the falcon in the book of the dead Papyri from
18th dynasty to 30th dynasty.
Some exhibited Papyri had been studied from most of the museums in
the world, and identifying the gods name which depicted in the forum of
Falcon in the chapters of Book of the Dead papyri, and interpretation of
the role of religious gods which depicted in the forum of Falcon in the
chapters of Book of the Dead papyri, and comparing the chapters of
Book of the Dead papyri with the Pyramid texts and coffin texts, analysis
such as Falcon Morphology (external form of the falcon): Falcon head
profile, beak, the mustache, the tail, wings, legs, postures (Kneeling,
sitting, Standing and Flying), clothes and ornaments, Headdress, wig,feather, tools which is handled by Falcon, the sitting and standing of the
falcon.
The lack of research and scientific studies that dealt with Falcon in the
Vignettes of the Book of the Dead, specify and collect some Falcon’s
forums in Book of the Dead papyri from all periods of the relevant study,
that the ancient Egyptian civilization considered the falcon as important
bird and because of a lot of gods were depicted in the forum of falcon’s
head so the researcher tried to study this subject.
The period of the New Kingdom and Late Period were chosen to
compare the differences in the forms of Falcon.
